What's your favourite TV show / film?

"I am a genius"

As I mentioned in previuos post I liked play basketball a lot and this taste for the sport was also present in the series that I saw when I was child. One of those was "Slam Dunk".

Slam Dunk is an anime from 90s that deals about the life of Hanamichi Sakuragi, a gang member who becomes a great basketball player, just to try to flirt with a girl from his high school. A complex story with romantic, comic and self-overcoming ingredient, in which the protagonist will gradually discover that he feels a certain passion for this sport, beyond the reason why he initially entered the team.

Why I like it so much?
Slam Dunk is a masterpiece from the 90s  and also is considered a piooner of sports anime. I really like all of this serie, from his witty jokes to his inspiring speeches. It teaches many valuable morals of life, such as establishing strong bonds with each other, and to never give up. It is an anime that’s been a part of my childhood, and it has always inspired me to do sport, it showed me that with effort you can achieve great things. Also, the personality of Sakuragi is the best, a little silly and naive but he always believes in his abilities saying "I am a genius", and even if he fails, he tries again until he succeeds.

I think that my favorite chapter is 84, because Hanamichi performs one of the best plays of the entire series. It was unexpected so more exciting: he jumping like a plane (really, the sound is from an airplane taking off) and making a dunk, just amazing. Here I leave the link of that scene for you to see (the video is in spanish):

The only problem is that the series doesn't end the story, leave me wanting more, but the good news is that it continues in the manga, so, if you want to know the end read the manga :)

Post 5: My Future Job

Since I was child I have wanted to work in creative industries as an animator or cartoonits. My idea has always been to work drawing comics because I like to draw a lot, and then make them into animations so they can reach to more people.  I guess that was the reason I decided to study graphic design, because if I studied in a career that  is similar to animation I could get better tools to archieve my dream job. Fortunately I have got them. However, life takes different paths, consequently my plans divert too. Now, with my new knowledge gained,  I would like to have my own studio nearby my home, and work with my partner selling t-shirts made with  serigraphy. Both of us will take care of each desing (colours, layout, typography, illustration, among others) and printing (frames, textile painting, and other tools), therefore it will be original and unique.  Right now that is my dream and I know that we can archieve it soon. However, it doesn't mean that I abandon...

Post 3: My Favorite Cartoon

Since I was little (I don't remenber my age exactly) I have felt a deep interest in anime, the cartoons from USA seem to me a little monotone, and anime doesn't have this problem, in fact, there are many different types of genres for each public, from deep stories (like "Evangelion") to absurd comedies (like "School Rumble"). In anime world, you can finnd anything you like haha. One the animes that left a mark in me was Dragon Ball Z. I have watched it since I was a child and I have to admit that it is my favourite anime. The story is about Goku and his journey searching the dragon balls, seven magic balls that grant you a wish if you can get a lot of them. In his journey, looking for the dragon balls, Goku will try very hard to become the best martial artist. Goku is a very inocent and pure person, who will always try to do good. When I was little, this anime made me believe that my whisers could come true if a worked really hard to archieve them. These les...
